This website is hosted by an external service provider (processor). The provider is STRATO AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Strasse 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When you visit this website, the provider automatically records information in server log files that your browser transmits (see section 3). Hosting serves the purpose of a secure, stable and efficient provision of this website. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a reliable presentation of the website). A data processing agreement (DPA) pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the provider.

3. Server log files

When the website is accessed, the following data is processed automatically: browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, hostname of the accessing device, date and time of the server request, and the IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources and is used for the technical delivery and the security of the website. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Log files are deleted after a short period, unless they need to be retained as evidence in the event of a security-relevant incident.

If you contact me by email, your details are processed for the purpose of handling the enquiry and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries) or Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to a contract. The data is deleted once it is no longer required and no statutory retention obligations apply.

5. Web analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Cloudflare Web Analytics works without cookies and without any client-side storage, and it does not fingerprint visitors or track them across sites. To measure aggregate usage (such as page views, referrers, browser type and approximate, country-level location), a lightweight script transmits technical data, including your IP address and user agent, to Cloudflare, where the IP address is evaluated only transiently to derive coarse metrics and is not stored in a form that identifies you. The purpose is to understand on an aggregate level how this website is used, so it can be improved. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a needs-based, privacy-friendly analysis of website usage). As the service is cookieless and does not store or access information on your device, no consent under Section 25 TDDDG is required. The processing involves a transfer to the USA; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and additionally relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded. You may object to this processing at any time (see section 6); the collected data is aggregated and does not allow you to be identified.

Apart from this analytics beacon, the website sets no cookies and embeds no other external services such as content delivery networks or social media plugins; fonts are served exclusively from the local server. For that reason, no cookie consent banner is required.
